Stevio Oedekerk's The Godthumb (2002)

Movie Info

The Mafia used to sometimes be called "the Black Hand," but one particular part of that hand gets the spotlight in this parody by Steve Oedekerk of one of the all-time great organized crime films. The Godthumb is a comic send-up of The Godfather in which all the characters are played by dressed-up thumbs with animated faces, much in the manner of Oedekerk's earlier comedy shorts Thumb Wars: The Phantom Cuticle, Thumbtanic, and Batthumb. When not busy giving a thumbs-up to film history, Oedekerk works as a screenwriter whose credits include Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Kung Pow! Enter the Fist.

Audience Reviews for Stevio Oedekerk's The Godthumb

The Godthumb isn't the best Thumb film, but it's still a hilarious parody of The Godfather that I still enjoy just as much as I did when I was a kid. Everything about this film is utterly ridiculous from the story to the kitten-eating bits to the meat cubes part, is comedy gold. Oh, if only these parodies were longer.

Worst of the 'Thumbs' films, but still a fun movie to watch. The jokes are more miss than hit, but the sets and f/x make the earlier movies look pretty bad in comparison. Characters aren't as creative as before, but is still an entertaining watch. Will be watching more 'Thumbs' if Steve-O ever decides to make more of them.

Not the best of the thumb movies, but defintly not the worst. If you liked the other ones, then you'll like this spoof of The Godfather. If you didn't like any of the others then you probably won't find this one funny either. Oedekerk and the rest of the voice cast do a good job of lending their voices (and some of their fasces) to the roles and manage to make this short film entertaing at least and not too long. If your a fan of the series then this one is worth checking out. DURING CREDITS: Clips of Electro Robo-Boogie II are shown during the credits. "Afraido?" "I don't ah talk much in this movie." "....Very well."
