Sick fun and lots of flesh! Stink of Flesh isn't a special effects film. It was shot for under $3500 and it shows. If you don't need CGI, then this has one great Zombie story. It's sick & twisted just like any good zombie film should be. If you're turned off by blood, nudity, or needless zombie killing then you should go rent Ishtar, otherwise this is a great indie horror.
This is a shorter review of a film you'll probably have to look hard to find- a low-budget zombie flic called 'The Stink of Flesh'. Don't ask how I found it, just surfing random websites. I really like low-budget films. Mainly because when a filmmaker doesn't have a budget they have to rely on creativity to get ideas across or to make films watchable. 'The Stink of Flesh' was shot in Arizona and most of the zombie action happens during the daytime. I liked this. The zombies are Romero-esque in looks and movement. The story centers around a hero named Matool who prefers hand to hand zombie combat so that he can hone his skills and keep himself fit. And he's very protective of his glasses. ;) Matool comes in contact with a couple with an open marriage who invite him into their 'family'- and oh what a family it is! 'Stink' has a Robert Rodriguez mentality which was nice to see in a zombie movie. The effects are well done, the acting is expectedly all over the place given the nature of films like these but the two lead men are quite good. Is it worth a buy? Hmmm... maybe- but if you can find it somewhere for rent check it out there first and make up your own mind.
