Critic Reviews for Stockholm
Suggests "Dog Day Afternoon" made by a filmmaker who can't decide whether he's pitching a docudrama or a sitcom.
Stockholm...is far from the first movie to believably show a crime victim coming to sympathize with a criminal. But it's a funny and agile one...
If you like Hawke's smaller turns, this is another one to seek out.
Hawke, in particular, excels in his second collaboration with Budreau, following his tender turn as Chet Baker in Born to Be Blue with a performance that unexpectedly becomes just as deep in the midst of an unabashed popcorn movie.
Budreaunever quite finds an ending, but the vibe he grooves in along the way (much of it provided by the less-remembered, early-'70s Dylan on the soundtrack) is just right.
