Movie Info

Laura Pember (Susan Hayward) is a carefree socialite who goes to the doctor after a series of reoccurring headaches. Dr. Carmody (Michael Craig) is the dedicated doctor who discovers she has a brain tumor. Subsequent surgery gets most of the malignancy, but leaves her with a year to live at most. He confides in her lover, race car champion Mike Bannerman (Edward Judd) and the two men conspire to keep her fate a secret to let her live out her life without worry. The doctor falls in love with his pretty patient, but Laura races off to Italy to Mike when she discovers the doctor withheld information. The broken hearted doctor flies to Italy to convince the doomed woman to join him in matrimony. Jazz trumpet legend Chet Baker stars as himself in this tear jerking, sob fest of a film.

Audience Reviews for Stolen Hours

In an eerie foreshadowing of her own fate Susan Hayward plays a wealthy socialite with a fatal brain tumor in this reworking of Dark Victory. The original is far superior but this has a lush production and some breath taking scenery as well as Susie's customary strong performance to recommend it.
