[Reiner] successfully blends boisterous comic zingers with provocative and often scorching insights into the strains of a marriage. Bring the Kleenex.

I actually found the film very moving, very honest, except maybe for its resolution.

A funny, teary, endearing movie that marks [Rob Reiner's] return to the romantic comedy formula he mined so well in When Harry Met Sally.

It may not be deep, but it is entertaining.

This film definitely paints a realistic picture of a crumbling marriage. Willis and Pfeiffer hit every point on the emotional scale, although some of the more intense scenes are a little too pushed.

This kind of story could be pretty dull, or worse, schmaltzy. It is saved from either fate by Mr. Reiner's snappy pacing and by the script from Alan Zweibel and Jessie Nelson, which is sharper and edgier than the average romantic comedy.

Failed marriages have been the subject of many films, and while The Story of Us doesn't add anything we haven't seen before, it succeeds anyway thanks to Rob Reiner's style of directing that is creative, yet still comfortably familiar.

Quite helpful and insightful in the way it exposes the inner workings of a long-term relationship ... but not a terribly involving movie experience.

Thanks to Mr. Willis and Ms. Pfeiffer, The Story of Us has moments of warmth and charm.

It's a film for people in a serious, long-term committed relationship--I think they have the most chance of understanding everything the film has to say.

Every time 'Story' wanders perilously close to the border of soap opera, the authors steer it back on course.

Could be described as a sequel to "When Harry met Sally," you know, like fifteen years later and with a heavier drama to comedy ratio.

Reiner coaxes yet another surprisingly adept performance by Bruce Willis who once again does not lay his finger on a gun, and gets some movement from one of my least favorite gorgeous actresses, Michelle Pfeiffer.

The Story of Us is flawed, but not seriously enough to curtail its ability to function as unpretentious entertainment.
