An absolutely OUTSTANDING tale of still pervasive discrimination that should be told more often --- presented via well-crafted script and rock sold directing, cast, photography and editing. Brandauer, Snipes and Pasdar in top form.

Russian defector trains an amateur boxer to a big win over Soviet champ with ESPN on hand. The amateur boxers here show much better defensive skills than the pros Rocky IV, which was made a year earlier. Somewhat predictable but pretty good.

"Nothing compares to re-living a genuine classic!" I love this film. There is no other way to say it. Thumbs way up!

Above average boxing pic has Russian coach earning a measure of redemption in bringing a couple US club fighters up from the bottom. Came out closely on the heels of ROCKY IV. ESPN boxing expert Al Bernstein is on hand.

could have used better inspirational music/cinematography for the fighting... and why dint they use Wesley Snipes more. That would have made this movie so much better. Also it could have been more climatic, one of the better boxing films I've seen, had a lot of potential to be greater
