This is the film where Tyrone Power met his future wife, Annabella. Beautiful production with beautiful people. Nothing is historically accurate of course. Zanuck let Power put some gray at his temples to indicate age. This is a very entertaining film with some wonderful effects.
Suez is a movie that never seems to go anywhere. It sets itself up as a romance and a historical drama and never really accomplishes either. The ending is abrupt, none of the characters are really established, and the story meanders.
