Based on a shocking true story, Melanie McGuire (Candice King) was an exceptional fertility nurse, married to her ex-Navy husband Bill (Michael Roark) and doting mother of two boys. When she falls for Brad (Jackson Hurst), a doctor at her clinic, and gets entangled in a steamy love affair, Melanie does the unthinkable. After drugging and murdering Bill, she dismembers him and places the body parts into three suitcases, throwing them into Chesapeake Bay. But when the suitcases are found on the shores of Virginia Beach, an investigation is launched leading to Melanie as the prime suspect. Led by the efforts of assistant attorney general Patti Prezioso (Wendie Malick), authorities eventually bring Melanie to justice, who despite being convicted, continues to maintain her innocence.

This drama takes a definite position on the defendant's guilt—the movie suggests she's guilty—but doesn't show us the evidence that persuades us beyond a reasonable doubt that she did the deed. Go to Full Review

Whitney R @WickyWicky 3h Netflix usually doesn’t disappoint with the crime dramas, but this was like a cheesy Lifetime movie. Acting was terrible, plot was predictable, music was noticeably "intense". Save yourself the 90 minutes! Shocked to see Wendie Malik in something so bad. See more Mike C 19h Pretty sure this is a comedy cause I couldn't stop laughing at the acting See more Cj J. @cjames2397 2d It was terrible. Absolute waste of a show. She’s a cheater that’s mad she’s being cheated on lol See more Aren B @Ab373 3d Movie is decent, makes you hate the prosecutor for really attacking Melanie without nearly any evidence whatsoever and mad on her behalf. Think this is a good example of very lazy police work and what should have been outrage of a domestic violence situation. Incredibly clear he was a serial cheater, has an abusive history with his ex-wife, was doing super sketchy behaviour, ect. Also did they ever question the kid she said she waited in the bathroom with? Could be how they depicted the details but everything really seems lazy and victim blaming from the polices side of it all. Especially the lead prosecutors near aggressive mindset of not looking for any other explanation just immediately the wife, filmsy evidence and lowkey hatred for woman and lack of compassion. Really makes you see the case as a true shame for Melanie and her family. Overall great acting and good POV just subject is mildly infuriating. See more Don T @GDOMH 4d This was movie used DRAMATIZATION but did not advertise this. It sold itself as a true story. Melanie never said "How did he drown" and that is not in her case records. Drama? Sure. Based on truth? NO! THAT IS WHY SHOWS ARE HONEST UP FRONT SAYING "Based on a true story with parts Dramatized". Netflix did not disclose this. Bait & Switch 101. Time wasted to find out how the movie would square that scene never squared it I will never get back. DON'T WATCH THIS MOVIE IF YOU THINK IT IS A TRUE STORY! See more Christopher M @callenmon 5d Extremely low quality movie. Horrible script, corny actors, doesn’t pace well with scenes that seem unbearable. This movie will have you questioning how did this make it to Netflix. See more Read all reviews
