Christliness has always been an element of the Superman myth. But this film's near literal insistence upon it becomes absurd since director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer don't dramatize the analogy, they presume it.

May 02, 2016What to say about this movie? This movie is begining of DCCU, so it means it should have started strong, but unfortunately it did not. It is not bad, but it is not great. It is ok. Movie has a lot of flashbacks, but it should have been done little better. It could have been better. Action is good and Henry Cavill did a really good job as Clark Kent/Superman. I would love to see him in other movies. Score is amazing. I didn't like tone of this movie. Because it worked for Batman, it does not mean ot will work for Superman. Ok film, if you are fan Zack Snyder you should go see it and you would love it.Marin ? Super Reviewer

Apr 17, 2016An average addition to the comic book universe of cinema. Henry Cavill is a decent superman trapped in a movie lacking an identity. The DC cannon is trying hard to cash in on the darker macabre feel of its most successful entry, the Dark Knight trilogy. The gritty comic reboot is not always the ticket to success, as can be seen in this film. The action scenes are well orchestrated and engaging, but the film lacks heft or emotional investment. There is jarring lack of proper pacing that invariably stems from the relentless attempt to be gritty and more somber. Man of Steel delivers all the spectacle of superman, but none of his heart. The excellent Michael Shannon also feels wasted in a weakly built and poorly scripted character.Shane S Super Reviewer

Mar 29, 2016The dark tone of "Man of Steel" probably fits well with some people, but for me, it just seems like they wanted to make Superman the same way Nolan made Batman back in 2005. The darkness of this movie doesn't help the story even the slighest and it actually makes the movie a lot more flat and boring, because it doesn't fit with the character of Superman. The first half of the movie is pretty well-made, but the second and third halves are really just a visual aspect of something that we never asked for.Lasse G Super Reviewer
