It made me laugh. And in a film like this, that is the only defense for liking it.

The entire film is one big excuse to play one lewd scene after another. About half of them are funny, a few are sexy and none are useful in telling the story, which is paper-thin and decidedly unoriginal.

It is a goulash made of leftovers that weren't good to begin with.

Seems to have been assembled (at short notice, with blindfolds on) by people who have never seen any movies outside of Cameron Diaz vehicles.

A silly, sophomoric and often rather funny and cute tale.

Loses its sense of humor in a vat of failed jokes, twitchy acting, and general boorishness.

A slick bit of often-entertaining vulgarity that just may click with its intended audience.

The Sweetest Thing has nothing insightful to say about relationships, and nothing funny to say about the singles scene.

Any similarity between the characters, persons, institutions or events in this movie and those, living or dead, in Sex and the City is purely coincidental because the folks who made this movie couldn't pull it off no matter how hard they try.

A coarse and stupid gross-out.

So many fizzling gags that you'll think you're watching a failed fireworks display set off in a torrential downpour.

Remember the movie critic Sony invented to give their films good reviews? Not even he would like this movie.

Derivative to the point of annoyance, it includes near copycat nods to Not Another Teen Movie, Scary Movie, American Pie -- anything in which yuk-'em-up sex jokes take center stage.

What this film really suffers from is a lack of inventive writing.
