Low budget Italian sword and sandal flick about the film's hero trying to reduce a virgin princess from being sacrificed to the Minotaur. There's ridiculous story elements about secret twins and feuding royals, but it's all very dull. If the film had at least had some more Minotaur action, even if it was badly done, that would have made this dull film more interesting. When the Minotaur does finally show up, it is badly done, though it did have camp entertainment value that earns this film one star instead of half a star.

I find the digression from the original story appealing.

This movie from 1960 has the beautiful Rosanna Schiaffino an Italian Beauty who appear in 45 movies from 1956 - 1977 . This movie is about the tribes living on the Island of Crete ( a beautiful place as I lived there for 3 years). Where the king sacrifices virgin women to the Minotaur (who looks a lot like the My Pet Monster in the 80's). The kings wife is dieing and on her death bed she tells the princess and father of her daughters twin sister and that she was hidden so she wasn't a meal for the Minotaur, so Rosanna plays two parts in this movie. The current princess wants her sister killer. All in all a 3 star Black & White sword and sandal movie.
