In this WW II era comedy-drama, a courageous young missionary woman tries to smuggle a group of Chinese orphans out of their country to the US. She then impersonates the wife of a shipping magnate who was lost at sea so the kids can have a decent home to live in. The deceased magnate's grandson is most suspicious and she eventually tells him the truth. He then protects them all.

For Durbin fans: This silly serio comedy was shot by the famous French director Jean Renoir but Universal interfered and imposed songs and retakes.
