(2008) The Boy Next Door

Straight to rental starring Dina Meyers as a mystery novelist moving to a little town for an inspiration to write her newest novel. While staying at her newest home, the guy living next door to her who she often sees through her window gets murdered. The police thinks she did it for obvious reasons motivating her to find the real killer herself.
Dina Meyer is nice to look at as a mystery writer but this journey has a feeling of a low budget made for tv movie involving incompetent police officers. Almost like a younger version of "Murder She Wrote" except that she uses her camera.

This was on TV and it was actually pretty ok...except that it did make me yell at the TV because people were being so stupid.

Crap. It isn't suspenseful and the heroine is a cold, self-involved, incredibly stupid woman. The mystery isn't that interesting, nor the characters, and no one is credible in their own role. Cory whathisface plays a bad boy, and he emits about as much bad boy vibes as Elmo. Then the police chief isn't convincing, either. Bad casting all around, plus a bad script/story.

And of course by the end they tack on a ridiculous romance, which was never even hinted at, or wanted.

Overall, this movie sucked.

i don't understand why the producers acted like cory was one of the main characters when, after watching the film, he clearly wasn't. the ten (or so) minutes he did get on screen, however, were worth watching... the rest of the film? eh not so much. very typical tv murder mystery, following the same plot of just about all other tv murder mysteries :(

Haha, old TV movie with Cory Monteith from Glee. He probably has one scene in it. That's okay, I've seen everything else he's done, including really bad flicks where he didn't even have any lines. :P
