Beautifully shot and costumed, this Hollywood version of the Benedict Arnold takedown. Much like in history, it's Major Andre we're left rooting for - thanks to the swoon-worthy elegance Michael Wilding brought to the role. Unfortunately, there's too little action and too much dialogue for it to really capture the viewer. 3+ stars

Colorful semi factual historical drama. Good production values and okay performances.

Great Lavish vintage drama, based around the Benedict Arnold affair.

Perhaps I was simply not in the mood for such a movie. An interesting tale about a traitor.

Though not quite historically correct, this is still a great movie about one of America's earliest traitors.

The story of an English Hero in the American Revolution.
Interesting historical movie.

Another well directed John Sturges movie about the fictional origins of the first American military intelligence unit during the Revolutionary war. Sturges does a great job of mingling actual events, Gen Benedict Arnold's attempts to hand over the American fort at West Point to the British in exchange for money and the fictionalized spy vs spy (Wilde vs Wilding) activities by the Americans and the British. Wilding and George Sanders are perfectly cast in their roles.
