Audience Reviews for The Who: Up Close and Personal

An intense, up close look at the sixties goliath band The Who. Each member is extensively interviewed for brief periods about their beginnings and evolution. Short clips of early performances are stunning. Warning: There are semi-frequent commercial interuptions to this Hulu.com film. They are not long, but like television, they always seem to come on at the wrong time. Just a warning. One thing that really comes out in the film that John Entwhistle, bassist guitar, was a huge contributor of the band as was the late Keith Moon. The British flag jacket shown here was despised by Entwhistle, one of the many trivia facts revealed in the film. SEE the whole movie here: http://www.hulu.com/watch/393683?c=music The group performed the same in their early days as later. The Pete Townsend swinging his arm around and around vertically about his guitar was started years before their immense popularity. Does not usually go into the life history of each band member, from childhood and such, but some of this is revealed. Editorial Reviews The forefathers of punk, Up Close and Personal! Immaculately researched footage takes you back in time to hear the words of Moon, Entwistle, Townshend and Daltrey first hand!
