The impression the film leaves with me is that, as said, it is a noble effort but is it one that can really help to make a change in our world, not just the Chesters' own little fiefdom?

John Chester is also the director and cinematographer while also bringing his character to life. He's created a rare and beautiful film that is exciting and keeps viewers mystified. accomplished and a lesson that dreams do come true.

This is a film that spotlights not only the rewards of hard work but also the all too forgotten meaning of respecting the wonders of creation both on the ground, beneath the soil and in the gorgeous night skies above.

A crowd-pleasing film that leaves us with the notion that if we all work together, and do the right thing, perhaps we can make a difference in this world. How's that for reaping the fruits of your labor?

No screenwriter could come up with this piquant, thunderous, tiny and huge story.

A splendid commercial - as opposed to argument - for small-scale biodiversity as an effective operative principle for a family farm in Southern California.

It's how farming could be done, perhaps how it should be done. One day we may have to do it this way, and this blueprint will be invaluable.

Chester is heavily invested in the ins and outs of manure, but he either can't, or chooses not to, smell the stink coming off his own film.

A beautiful film with a surprisingly strident message and broad-based appeal.

Almost immediately the film proves disinterested in dissecting the complexities or nuances of their shift to rustic living... Maybe it was all that simple, but as a result, neither subject has much agency.

A film about noble aims and goals that never sugarcoats the hard work and dedication it takes to raise animals and produce crops in tandem with nature.
