If you want to watch a movie about a family of three arguing where litterly nothing happens this is the movie for you. See more jane a 08/12/2022 Plenty of spooky fun for me in this thriller, but "Bride in the Box" is also an artful gem of a family drama. I love the writer/director's clear joy in endearing moments of family life, even as he doesn't shy away from showing realistic conflict. The characters are haunted as much by unresolved family dynamics as they are by a restless spirit with unfinished business. It takes great acting to pull off this effect. "Heather" and "Don" seem to get this in their bones. Excellent performances throughout. See more 08/11/2022 From the opening shot, this film's gorgeous cinematography featuring the Maine coast had me hooked. More suspense than horror, this is a ghost story that reminds us that in real life the scary stuff is trying to navigate the vicissitudes of marriage and parenting a teen. Terrific acting and a great Downeast yarn make this a film a shoestring budget gem that's well worth watching. Terrific writing, beautifully shot, and with stellar performances throughout, the film engaged me at every level. I also enjoyed getting to know rural Maine and its intriguing personalities.
