Critic Reviews for The Christmas Clause
Not quite a preachy family values yarn that is totally soured on lawyer moms in the workplace, the movie does make a case for fulfillment on both scores in, well, a fairly even-handed split verdict.
Audience Reviews for The Christmas Clause
Oh, for the love of Christmas, do we need another swap your life at Christmas movie. I'm sick of them. Now, as in most films there are some positive points to the film but I can't name them. I'm just so sick of watching this theme and they keep trying to come up with creative ways to pull it off. Subsequently it's been a couple of days since I've seen the film and I can't even tell you any of the positives to the film. It was too boring for words. I would rather watch It's a Wonderful Life than this. www.what-to-watch.com
** (out of four) Yet another twist on the "It's a Wonderful Life" idea. This time Lea Thompson is feeling overwhelmed at Christmas as she is trying to balance her job, her kids, and her commitments. One day at the mall a Santa overhears her wish she had someone else's life, so he grants it to her. The movie acts as though she is the only person suffering from this over Christmas and it is hard to sympathize with her struggle to find her way back.
