The manipulation is visible from the start — you can practically see the filmmakers deciding when to flip each card. Go to Full Review

It occasionally suffers from the same problem as many modern true-crime documentaries, however, by stretching ambiguity for suspense even when the facts appear overwhelmingly clear. But at a brisk 92 minutes, it is still taut and absorbing. Go to Full Review

The story itself is an engrossing tale of coercive control and car-crash forensics. As a documentary, though, it's fairly formulaic in its approach and lacks the incisive analysis of the best of the genre. Go to Full Review

Ultimately, The Crash is harrowing, gut-wrenching and sombre -- a meticulous examination of a toxic romance that ended in irreversible devastation. Go to Full Review

Ultimately, the documentary works because it knows exactly what image it wants to project of its protagonist: that of a spoiled young woman, obsessed with attention and emotionally dependent on social media. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Arlene V @arlenevidor 6h I watch many true crime documentaries and some dramatizations of true crime and this is the first time I've been mad enough to post a critique. As Netflix claims that Crash is a documentary, the filmmakers and the streaming service should all be ashamed of what they did here. The whole thing felt 'off' from the get-go and it is a highly manipulated concoction of overwrought drama and a nauseating amount of social media footage of the perpetrator thirst trapping (and worse). We got the jist after the first 15 minutes, enough already! And what type of deal with the devil (devil being the criminally negligent Shirilla parents) did the filmmakers strike to avoid the topic of Mackenzie's rehearsals before her commission of the final premeditated double murders? More unanswered questions that answers. Watch the Discovery ID episode about this crime; it's much better. See more Zee C. @ZeeChula973 2d The documentary provided gripping and emotionally devastating . Providing details such as controlling, manipulative, or emotionally abusive patterns in a toxic relationship and the misuse of social media. See more Marvel N @MarvelNerd 2d This is horrifying for everybody. The directing and editing is amazing. I definitely recommend it! See more Valentina T @RT41170176 3d I thought this was a really well-done documentary. It was clear that the director had their own view on what happened and presented that side but it didn't seem to be overtly heavy-handed. They interviewed the parents of all of the involved parties and also Mackenzie herself. It was very illuminating and sent me down a rabbit hole of looking at this case. See more Russell H @RT85733992 3d Pretty intense. Psycho. See more Umutoni G @RT01569678 3d this movie was a tense and engaging thriller with a few unexpected twists. The story kept me interested, and the suspense built nicely throughout. Not perfect, but it’s an entertaining watch if you enjoy mystery and crime dramas. See more Read all reviews
