Another film added to the conjuring universe, now taking a new path with a new villain based on a true legend, La llorona, different for Annabelle or the Nun, this new idea of bring legends from human culture is a fascinating and fantastic way of bringing more stories to this creepy and mysterious world, but unfortunately like the Nun and the first Annabelle this is not well adapted, neither for the director or for the screenwriter, the whole script is so stupid just like he characters in it, even that the family seem to have a connection between them, this link is very poor, also the kids in this movie, doesn`t look like kids because a normal child would said something to his fathers if she or he saw something horrible or creepy like La llorona, but instead of sound the alarm, these stay quiet waiting for the monster to come for them and kill them, and in top of that the bad decisions taken by the characters even when they know they don`t have to do such thing, this is the only way the story can continue by foolish acts, that's how they make look the climax of the movie so long, by extending the problem with failures and a lot of mistakes, it may have one or two good terror scenes but apart from that the rest are just cheap screamers for a bad portrayed of a Mexican legend. 4.2/10
when it mentioned Annabelle
It was a bit hokey in some parts but scarier than I expected.
It was sometimes scary to be honest
A boring, cliche, and probably racist jump-scare fest. Could have benefited from a cast of Mexican heritage and being a good movie.
Another lazy cash grab in the Conjuring Universe. I thought after the flop of the Nun it would do better. But in the end what made me give it 3 stars was that the Llorana was a decent demon and the movie delivered with the jumpscares and chills. Annoyingly it was 1 and a half hours long. Typical.
Scary yet failed to produce a real horror feeling. Scariest film since Annebelle Creation but it gets boring with only one ghost doing so many violent scares without putting actual efforts to do the main job.
Un asco. Aburrida y tonta a más no poder.
i liked so did my hubby n 5 yr okd son wasnt too scary but i did get jump scared a 😆 lil
Not enough lore or scares to keep this unmemorable entry afloat in the Conjuring Universe; but it does have the atmosphere down.
