Movie Info

A pair of shipwreck survivors come under attack from the savage inhabitants of a remote island (which looks a lot like Texas) and are soon taken prisoner by a deranged, sadistic nobleman (appropriately named De Sade), his weird servants, and his insane, disease-ridden wife, whom he keeps hidden in the dungeon. Weirdness ensues as the hapless innocents are given a thorough working-over, and the leprous madwoman eventually escapes to infect the entire cast. Basically a very cheap imitation of Roger Corman's famous Poe adaptations (which were pretty cheap to begin with), this goofy but ultimately depressing film may be construed as semi-entertaining by fans of hokey drive-in horror schlock; others need not apply.
