Audience Reviews for The Fatal Hour

Things happen to people who know too much. The Captain of the police force has his best friend murdered. He hires Detective Wong to help him uncover those responsible for the crime. Detective Wong is a very eccentric guy, and the captain doesn't always agree with his methods, but the captain doesn't mind the results. Can Detective Wong solve the case? "Sometimes people get hurt." William Nigh, director of Mr Wong, Detective; Black Dragons; The Ape; Desert Nights; Divorce; Forever Young; The Gay Cavalier; and The Mysterious Mr. Wong, delivers Fatal Hours. The storyline for this picture is just okay and doesn't have as much drama as I would have liked. The cast does deliver awesome performances and includes Boris Karloff, Marjorie Reynolds, Lita Chevret, and Grant Withers. "They say drowning is an easy death." "He had two slugs in his neck before he hit the water. Not such an easy way to die." Fatal Hour is a movie I watched off Netflix because it starred the marvelous Boris Karloff (I love watching his old films). This was a bit disappointed and I was only half interested in the plotline. Karloff was awesome and fairly funny; but as an overall film, this was very average. "My personal affairs are none of your business." Grade: C

Boris Karloff, who is laughably casted as a Chinese detective, is fine but even he can't save this generic-as-hell whodunit. For mystery buffs only.

"Chinese copper" Mr. Wong (Boris Karloff) follows the trail of a dead cop and uncovers a smuggling ring in San Francisco. Drained of personality, Karloff stars (?) as a Chinese (?) detective with minimal deductive powers; fortunately, he's given a generic mystery to solve in this insulting 3rd generation Charlie Chan ripoff.
