Miscast roles?

Shouldn't Nicolas Cage be the crazy villain and Cusack be the cop? From what I have seen, both of them do just fine, especially Cusack but when I heard of this film I was intrigued with the premise and cast but shocked when I found out who would play the detective, Cage, really? The guy can do serious roles (Adaptation, Bringing Out the Dead) but it seems backwards.

I could see it like you said, but cusack has played the villain before, like in the movie Identity and he did awesome. I like both actors but Cusack is my favorite.

Excuse me, but Nic Cage is good in anything he's in, bad acting or not.

I kind of agree. But it is a nice change of pace.

Indeed it is. Cage is good as villains though.

I could see Cage being a cop. He was pretty badass in Lord of War and Bad Lieutenant

Yeah but he was mental in Bad Lieutenant. It wasn't a subtle role like this one.

Cage can do subtlety too (rarely, but he can). I'm not saying he'd pull it off easily, but I can see him doing it.
