Must see tjhe uncut European version. Cut scenes are essential for coherence of the plot. Great premise. Movie drags a bit.
This really does not deserve the poor reviews it has gathered. Certainly it is no masterpiece, nor does it shatter any norms of film-making. However, it is a perfectly respectable tale of nefarious goings on in the countryside with a religious and historical slant. A pleasant way to spend an hour or two.
Initially promising, but ultimately weak and disinteresting British horror movie.
This wanted to be the Wicker Man and it wasnt at all. Its not awful BUT its not a horror. Ricci was dreadfullt miscast. This was her odd peiord where she did alot of rubbish. Gruffydd also seemed a weird lead choice. Fox was the only redeeming feature. Who would invite a stranger into the house?????
Nice little film, interesting story, good cast.
The Gathering had some promise, particularly for me since I enjoy stories that tap into Biblical legends such as Joseph of Arimethea and the Lance of Longinus. However, the film just never really managed to take off or become interesting in any way whatsoever. It is neither scary nor dramatic. It is just mostly boring....
really good idea - hidden secret of church after many years have been found and they want to bury it again... "They came only to see, from the east and from the west, from the city and from the plain. They came not, in holy reverence to the lord, but in lust."
About as thrilling as drying paint.
The movie has a great idea, but a horrible ending.
i liked it despite the bad reviews lol actually i enjoyed it over and over again. The idea of being cursed for eternity to witness horrible events was somehow interesting
