Sadly, this movie failed to hook me. I got maybe 10 minutes in before I decided to just turn it off. Boring.

Asian crime drama. Guy goes hunting down who killed his girl... had potential, but I found this boring and easily forgettable.

O filme é bem divertido quando não tenta ser mais esperto do que é, e as cenas de luta são muito boas.

An interesting noir thriller, The Girl from the Naked Eye has an impressive visual style but lacks a bit in storytelling. When a call girl is found murdered her driver sets out for revenge and turns on his bosses in order to find those responsible. It's a rather formulaic plot and the characters are the usual stereotypes. But this is made up for by the fight sequences, which bring a lot of energy to the film (though the fights start to become a little too choreographed). The Girl from the Naked Eye doesn't have much originality, but it's entertaining and has a creative aesthetic.

Awesome hallway fight scene reminiscent of Old Boy. "In its moments of sometimes comically violent antagonism, the movie shows some flashes of genre pizzazz." "There's a lot to like about the action film "The Girl From the Naked Eye," especially some crisp martial arts fight sequences and the subtle sense of humor that surfaces now and then." It's strange that Sasha Grey is on the cover, she has only a very brief cameo.

Interesting crime novel movie

A movie that doesn't know what it wants to be crossing all genres. The best segments are the songs played during the fight sequences, martial arts to Bolero!

The shit I put myself through in hopes of great action.

A very stylish low budget noir film from a talented new director. Nothing about the film is terrific, but it's full of so much dedication that it's hard to not enjoy it. The acting is pretty atrocious, but once again it's hard not to admire the heart put in to this. A fun, silly, entertaining little escapade.

The Girl from the Naked Eye has heart, which is more than can be said of some other recent genre throwbacks, but it ultimately makes barely a splash.

tries to be a noir thriller but is just a average flick

I don't think that this is really a detective noir type of movie. It has the elements but the mix is all wrong. There is a gorgeous woman who is in trouble or who has died, and there is a merciless and relentless anti-hero trying to solve the mystery. I don't think that the ending really added any value to the story and I don't think that there was anything note-worthy in the fight sequences to make it worth more than a redbox rental. Also if you are going to see this movie because Sasha Grey is in it... don't bother, she is in it for2 minutes and is just there to scream in the elevator while guys fight near her.

Feels like an extended sizzle reel for a better movie.

It tries so hard, yet it completely fails. The Girl from the Naked Eye is a wannabe noir murder mystery, when it should have just been a low budget action flick. Its conflicting genres and poor story end making for a somewhat entertaining but highly flawed movie.

First off is the genre. By having the main girl murdered in the very first scene, there is no suspense or ticking clock for the hero to beat. Jake (Jason Yee) is a driver and his girlfriend/escort is found murdered. He must avenger her death. The movie would be more thrilling if she was kidnapped instead.

The action bits are pretty decent, but only when Jake is fighting Marco, a Capoeira fighter with some mean skills. There is a cheesy homage to the hallway fight in Oldboy, as well as some lame gun play. If they opted to make this just a martial arts flick instead of a noir, it would have succeeded better.

Dominque Swain plays another escort that simply gives advice, and she is underused and should have been a new sidekick for Jake. Instead she just points him in the right direction whenever the plot slows down.

Overall the movie just feels a rip off of Marv's story in Sin City, but its mixed genres and lack of suspense make for a dull noir wannabe full of voice-overs and no tension or drama. The only humour was the pimp's girlfriend, and it makes for a very stiff and unsatisfying movie.

Poorly acted and written, misogynistic, and predictable, but the fight scenes are really enjoyable (though obviously copped right out of Old Boy), and visually striking.

This is a fun and sexy film noir with great fight sequences. The young stars are beautiful.

Blatant martial arts rip off of Sin City / Oldboy. Couldn't have been original, but not bad for the director's first attempt.
