Caught the MSTK3k riff: "They're throwing us violently into the next scene!"
This appeared on "Mystery Science Theater 3000" & is in the IMDb.com Bottom Rated List. What's crappy about it is its sloppy editing, unlikable cast & the bad dancing from the female lead.
Rating reflects the MST3K presentation, which is pretty hilarious, I honestly don't know how this turkey would hold up under it's own weight otherwise.
Rental? Of the comedy version, yes.
Typical cheap drive-in fair that isn't as bad as it IMDB Bottom 100 rating but is still really dull. The acting in Girl in Gold Boots isn't as bad as you would expect but in typical "budget" films of the era it is filled with excessive "filling" shots that really drag down what was already a dull and absurd storyline.
The Girl in Gold Boots is a typical low budget, late 60's movie. It has sexy ladies, motorcycles and music. It's not a great movie at all. It's about a waitress with no direction who is picked up by a couple of guys and taken to California to become a dancer. Along the way they find lots of crime, sex and wayward strangers. It's mostly boring, at least to me, and doesn't really give me much reason to stay awake. It's remembered today only because it was featured on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, and even they couldn't improve it much. I'd say skip it, except for MST3K, which only marginally improves it.
Wonderful Grindhouse exploitation flick from Ted V. Mikels. It's the story of Michelle, an aspiring Go-Go Dancer, who gets caught up in a love triangle with Talent Scout and Hood, Buzz, and Folk Singer/Conscientious Objector, Critter. This film has it all - Beautiful Go Go Dancers, Bikers, Hoods, Beatniks, Cool Cars, Sleazy Drug Dealing Lounge Lizard Night Club Owners, a Crazy 60s party scene and more. Loved it!!
Confusing plot that goes no where, horrible acting, dull characters, and everything else that makes a good episode for Mystery Science Theater 3000. Otherwise, it's a lacking film that will drive you to boredom.
What if "Easy Rider" was actually the story of a girl who wanted to go to Hollywood to become a burlesque dancer. It would be a really boring and terrible movie. Great MSTing though.
What was the point of this movie? Only watch it with MST3K
Hilariously bad movie! It's got everything: go-go dancing, crime, drugs, and badly written songs! People appear and disappears, scenes come out of nowhere, and the ending is predictable. Watch the MST3K version, it's fun.
