The awareness that is being spread with this movie is what I’m interested in. I really appreciate this movie and it has inspired me to spread more awareness about this and learn the First Nations culture even more and show respect. It’s their land and they deserve to be in charge of it. We are their guests. Great movie. See more Martin B @RT44235356 08/31/2023 Living conditions tough but it appears they hyperbolized the conditions beyond reason. At the rate they were committing suicide there wouldn't be any young people left after a few years. They admitted to the fact the assistant coach was not a big drinker. Looked like a village was in dyer poverty but they raised an enormous amount of money for the trip. Many of the players went on to have success, it wasn't all from lacrosse so there had to be support systems in place they could take advantage of. Poetic license is one thing but the writers took it too far. Clearly it was a good story and could have been just as heart warming by dialing the draconian conditions back a notch or two. See more 06/13/2022 I think the movie was honestly really good. It stays real and doesn't sugar coat things. There was instances of suicide throughout the movie as well as the kids struggles and what they go through daily. It opens your eyes to what it's like especially when you're someone who's got the privilege to be in a better situation. The characters were all likable in their own ways and had a depth to them that helped form that care for them. In the end, I liked how real this movie was. I like how it doesn't try to hide things rather than show them face on. The acting by the cast was also very real and believable when some movies fail to do that. See more Read all reviews
