Annabella Sciorra's performance as a stressed out wife who becomes suspicious of the behavior of her new nanny is the reason to watch this predictable thriller.

Some great performances make this more than just a strong thriller.

Rebecca De Mornay carries this thriller that should have been so much better.

A solid movie with fantastic performances by many of the main characters. Though predictable, the plot progression was solid just the same. Plus Soloman was just so darn likable and a perfect example of a gentle giant. One of the most under rated aspects of this under appreciated film.

A good thriller with De Mornay in particular standing out. She has a lot of fun in the role and is quite menacing in parts

A chilling horror film that is all the more effective for the fact that the depicted events can easily occur, and maybe even have, The Hand That Rocks The Cradle may not be the most logically sound experience, but it's a harrowing one nonetheless. Rebecca De Moray is fantastic as the spiteful babysitter trying to tear apart a happy family. What makes her such a great character is her subversiveness. She doesn't do many things which are blatant until the climax. For most of the time she uses subtle hints and sly tactics to steadily and methodically undermine her victims. So everything we see her do, big or small, has an ultimate purpose. Many would consider their child being put in harms way to be the worst kind of living nightmare, and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle makes you feel that, and it's nice to see a set of parents in a horror film that actually act sensibly, rather than further endangering their child with stupid decision after stupid decision. Nothing flashy, nothing supernatural, just a down to Earth horror flick that'll make you think twice before hiring your next babysitter.

The Hand That Rocks The Cradle is an psychological thriller about a psychopathic nanny named Peyton who wants to kill Claire and mainly steal her family. In the beginning Claire has been sexually molested by the doctor named Dr. Mott and when the news is on about what happened, Dr. Mott commit suicide. Now Peyton swears vengeance after losing her baby and the chill is on. Ernie Hudson is in this as Soloman, many of people knew in Ghostbusters, even Julianne Moore. The film is directed by Curtis Hanson who sadly passed away. This film gave me chills when something is about to happen and you can feel it when you're about to watch it. You can certainly feel the creepiness through the whole film when the villain is plotting something devious. Yeah, it's an enjoyable film just for the creepiness and the chills.
