Movie Info

Tom Mix plays Tom Dane, a helpful cowboy out to uphold law and order, in this adaptation of Zane Grey's"The Last Trail, a Story of Early Days in the Ohio Valley." As the film begins, Tom saves a frontier family --Joe Pascal (Lee Shumway) and his wife-- from an Indian attack. Pascal is so grateful that he names his son after Tom. Later, when Pascal has become sheriff of Carson City, the town is plagued by a series of stagecoach robberies. Providing a guard for the stage, Pascal is mortally wounded by bandits. Tom comes to help but it is too late for Pascal. With he dying breath he asks Tom to care for his son. Afterwards, a U.S. Express agent arrives and recommends a stagecoach race to determine who will get an important stagecoach contract. Tom enters the race but finds himself competing against Kurt Morley (William Davidson), the ruthless leader of the stagecoach robbers, who wants the contract for himself.more
