The Lion King Reviews
The Circle of Life is complete when Favreau directs the most outstanding film in his distinguished career. A triumph to the human spirit on how wonderful dreams can be created into reality. A wonderful version that takes us with pleasant surprise!
The adaptation makes some excellent choices, but not enough to live up to the original.
This film isn't it. Wasn't needed as the original animated film is in every way better and this did nothing but hurt the name
Just shy of matching the original but still phenomenal. I think I loved cgi simba more as a highly emotive cat, but missed some of the funnier comedy in the original. Progressiveness killed a few good jokes but otherwise still great.
This movie was so emotionless. I tried so hard to have the same emotion as the original. This movie fell so flat. It was missing so so much actual acting and emotion. I couldn't finish it I turned it off. I'm sorry but the truth about this one might hurt. A cartoon was better than the cgi period. Ouch
Not A bad film really just feels like The original lion king copy and paste it up with Somewhat air quotes Live action and there you go Disney's next box office hit 5/10
The cgi was trying to be so realistic it lost all personalities in the characters. I could barely tell a difference between scar and mufasa. The long live the king scene is the worst Simba has no emotion coming of just as very awkward.
Visually stunning, but otherwise empty and boring. This version of the Disney classic lacks the whimsy and heart of the original in a way that is sorely disappointing. A great cast, unparalleled special effects, and not much else worth watching. Truly forgettable.

Being one of the few people who was never taken in by the charms of the original, I was actually looking forward to this one because, for me, there was nowhere to go but up. I was MISTAKEN. All the positives about the original were entirely absent and all the negatives were expanded upon. There was no life whatsoever from any of the characters, it was truly as if they all phoned it in. It's quite the achievement to copy nearly verbatim the original plot and script and yet make something so much worse.
The Lion King (2019) is a film that looks beautiful but falls short in terms of its soul and heart. The acting is alright, but it feels like the actors were just doing imitations of the original characters, with nothing special added. The pacing is slow, and the film takes out some of the best parts of the original. It is a fun film to watch, but if you have access to the original, I highly recommend watching that instead. The story, characters and the overall feel of the original is much more engaging and meaningful. The animation is impressive but the story and emotions are not as good as the original. Overall, The Lion King (2019) is a decent film, but it falls short in comparison to the original. I give it a 6 out of 10.
Such good graphics, holy moly. Intriguing story tho.
Very Funny and relististic

This is not a great movie for a variety of reasons, the sound is poorly mixed, somehow the music is not as good as the original, the voice acting does not express the emotions that the scenes are trying to convey... also, please stop saying this is a "life action" movie, is not, its CGI... that's just a marketing strategy nothing more nothing less, the animation is not even that realistic, in some scene you can clearly notice the CGI so... you cannot claim this is life action without a single real life animal involve... it's stupid if you ask me... To me, it doesn't matter if the original is better, this movie is lackluster on its own, it's mediocre, just a nostalgia fest
The original movie is so...sooooooooooo much better. The best way I have to describe the quality is this: You know how for every family movie there's one of those "straight to home video" knock-offs? Imagine someone made one of those about The Lion King, but their investors added a bunch of extra zeros to the budget. That's what this version is.
