Audience Reviews for The Lost Battalion
I saw this movie over Thanksgiving weekend. As a rule, I do not like war movies. This was different, very exciting and suspenseful. The fact that it was based on true to life events made this even more interesting. Rick Schroder is really great and I feel that he is underrated as an actor. Every movie I have seen him in, he always gives a top-notch performance. The setting really made you feel a sense of fear and anxiety, as if you were fighting right along-side the soldiers. Fantastic movie
Though I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it, we didn't get to know a whole lot about the characters, and at the very end of the movie it didn't quite satisfy me. Though I do feel like the movie delivered exactly what it wanted to.
An absolutely wonderful war drama that captures the hopelessness of World War I trench warfare. The film is unambitious and thus focuses on the predicaments of the trapped men and their will to survive. It's a wonderful story that has been given a very respectful treatment.
