Movie Info

Hannah Higgins (Julia Stiles) is a smart, driven education consultant. She's so driven she runs for Congress to advance the cause of education reform. Hannah's not a likable candidate, though; her elitism turns off Boston voters, big-time. Hannah and her business partner, Colleen Pickering (Camryn Manheim) don't give up easily. Next election, they recruit a candidate - beer vendor Elliot Doolittle (David Walton) - who definitely is a man-of-the-people. Elliot - whose thick South Boston accent masks considerable intelligence - is the polar opposite of prim-and-proper Hannah. But as Elliot becomes more "presentable" and Hannah becomes less "proper," could this be a match made in electoral Heaven? -- (C) ABC

The result is an adorable and faithful update that spoofs politics, television and Boston while making underlying points about education, class conflict and being oneself.

A pleasant enough diversion for a few light-hearted hours, and with a little bit of luck, will help point Hallmark back toward sending the very best.

Audience Reviews for The Makeover

I adore Julia Stiles, and this was a cute story, but the actor playing in the lead role was very annoying.

What a fantastic story. The cast was adorable and the ending was perfectly sappy. All fans of romantic comedies should check this one out.
