Nothing rings remotely true in this outdated pulp neo-noir - not the gorgeous and ridiculously cultivated prostitute with a golden heart, not the embarrassing plot full of moralizing and certainly not the absurd ending that wants to make us feel good about the murder of a pedophile.

Constance Towers plays Kelly, a prostitute on the run from her former pimp who ends up in a town and decides to go straight. She starts working with children at a local hospital and despite being told to leave town by police, she starts to build a life for herself. She falls in love with Grant (Michael Dante) who is rich and doesn't mind her past. It becomes clear he doesn't mind her past because he is a child molester and they are both sexual deviants. Samuel Fuller is a capable director and the film has a decent pace, but it's completely uninspired.

Good performances and all, but there's one major problem which I couldn't overlook.

Fuller's take on melodrama is much more brutal. A very risque subject for it's time, this pulp classic holds up very well today.
