Still, it’s Nolan’s party and he can do what he wants with it. He’s succeeded in many ways—bringing a classic epic poem to life, modernizing it, but certainly not in a thoughtless way, and utilizing the full range of his prodigious cinematic toolkit.

"The Odyssey" is one of the classics of Western literature. Nolan might have asked what made it endure, rather than treating it as if this was the cinematic equivalent of a Classics Illustrated comic book.

It was ok. It could’ve been a PG-13 movie. The CGI was good, but the story line is long and not too much action.
