May 13, 2014A cop disillusioned at the lack of justice served to those who raped and murdered his wife and daughter becomes Jigsaw from Saw in this terrible revenge thriller. This is a film that requires its viewing audience to be absolute and utter retards. Not to mention it also makes the Korean justice system look like absolute crap. I feel that revealing how his wife and daughter were murdered requires some set-up first, so bear with me. The cop met his wife after she came in to turn in the guy who had kidnapped her and tortured her, killing one of her friends in the process. It's clear she's haunted by the experiences she had to go through in order to come out alive. The cop, whose name escapes me, starts becoming romantically involved with this woman as time goes on, eventually getting married and leading to her getting pregnant. The cop receives a letter from the guy that kidnapped and tortured his wife saying that he had changed and given his life over to god and that the murderous side of him would never return. The cop tries to keep this from his wife, but she eventually finds the letter and loses her shit and she abandons her husband, she hadn't given birth yet. Fast forward 4-5 years later, she's ready to have the daughter meet her father, the cop, for the first time. The cop is, obviously, elated at this and hurries to their meeting place, at this park. The daughter, shortly before her father's arrival, tells her mother that she has to pee. The pair decide to leave to like a nearby coffee shop, or something, cause apparently the park doesn't have bathrooms. While she's waiting for her daughter to come out from the toilet, these guys come in, looking high or drunk, perhaps both, and proceed to rape the mother and then they proceed to stab her and the daughter. Fast forward to the court case and these two are found innocent due to LACK OF EVIDENCE. These guys were covered in blood, they left DNA evidence ALL over the goddamn bathroom, they left prints on both of the victims...this was basically done by two amateurs who clearly weren't in their right state of mind, yet there was a lack of evidence at the crime scene. What the fuck? Maybe it was all part of the film, it was all supposed to be corruption between those involved in the legal process, but the film does such a poor job at explaining just what the hell is going on that it's preferable to assume that the justice system in this film's world is absolute dog shit. Absolute idiocy, and everything after the cop, whose name REALLY escapes me, decides to become a vigilante like Batman is dreadful as well. There's some subplots here as well, but they're awful and they only help to confuse you and distract you. And don't get me started on the hostage situation that makes for the climax of the film. Talk about corny and goofy to the max and the score certainly doesn't help matters, looks like it was done from a very cheap keyboard. This movie is just so bad, poor acting, poor writing, stupid characters and a cheap score make this one of the worst Korean revenge thrillers I've ever seen, if not one of the worst Korean films I've seen period. Please watch Bedevilled or The Yellow Sea instead, both are vastly superior to this turd of a film. Awful, just awful.Jesse O Super Reviewer
