Narrated by Rossif Sutherland, this short used the myth of the minotaur to represent how the protagonists feels as if he is trapped in his own recollections. The film uses encaustic painting animation, which involves heating wax and adding pigments. This effect is stunningly beautiful. I loved how the images are constantly morphing from one to another. The plight of the protagonist corresponds to the dislocation experienced by many immigrants. Donald Sutherland has a small voice cameo. Shortlisted for Academy Awards. Certainly deserved to be there more than Hair Love (winner) or Kitbull. See more Read all reviews
