Maksim S @MaksimusMovies Nov 10 Director Joel Sandvos delivers an unflinching portrait of child sex‑trafficking in Svay Pak, Cambodia, following young survivor Mien and the activists striving to effect change. The film is intensely unsettling: raw footage of exploitation, poverty and broken systems drags you into a world few dare to see. Yet, despite its harrowing subject matter, the documentary offers glimmers of redemption and community‑based resistance. Scenes of grassroots efforts and Mien’s path toward healing lend a hopeful dimension that prevents the film from collapsing into despair. However, the film is imperfect: its production sometimes feels under‑resourced, the narrative pacing uneven, and certain advocacy‑driven moments skirt the edge of didacticism. In short: essential viewing for its courage and urgency—but it demands emotional grit and comes with conceptual sharp edges. See more 09/10/2018 Incredible, no reviews. I've not even seen this recently but sometime ago & it's haunted me since. Thank God for the living saints trying to help unfathomable sickness. Talk about a place I can't ever dream of visiting, Cambodia, just due to the sheer unspeakable terror brought upon their youth. This is a staggering...and I DO mean STAGGERING real life depiction of horrors of evil that make any actual fiction HORROR movie look like a joke, Not for the faint of heart, as I often lament, but all the same, necessary material to LOOK at when you want to wince & look away. These kids can't share that luxury, they must LIVE there. Call to action for all their society & their political leaders to crack down already as this IS evil incarnate, not disguising it any other way. You want to see the devil in action, witness this, then send him back to hell & rescue the children!! See more 06/26/2017 A Sad but somewhat hopeful documentary about children sex slaves. These people are doing a great thing by helping these children. See more Read all reviews
