01/22/2021 The best thing a white Western person can do is to use their privilege to highlight the abuse our "civilisation" has inflicted on others. In this case, the protagonist works as one of the porters on a commercial expedition in Nepal, revealing the hard reality about their working conditions. A must-see for all Western outdoor enthusiasts. We shouldn't forget that our actions and consumption patterns have consequences. See more 01/20/2021 Very beautifuly portrayed story of Porter life in Everest region. Thank you Nate for this awesome untold story of Everest. There is definitely lots of improvement to make, hopefully NMA, TAAN and all other organization including trekking company will come up with a proper wages which helps Porter's to afford all their expenses and get paid enough for their hard work. Huge Respect to Nate. Namaste ! See more 01/19/2021 Great film! Gave a fresh perspective See more 01/19/2021 Great perspective on the equality differences between the adventure tourists(who probably don't consider themselves rich) and the local people who depend on the work for a very meager / subsistence living. See more 01/19/2021 An absolutely incredible story filled with moments of true human connection and vulnerability. In this eye opening film, adventure junkie Nathaniel Menninger manages to show us the struggle of the porter without ever diminishing their individuality and humanity. He takes great care to not be the white savour so many documentarians are and instead takes the route of solidarity. This is one of my absolute favourite films of 2020 and I'm certain it will be yours too if you give it the chance. See more 01/19/2021 Amazing Film, get this to Cannes See more Read all reviews
