Big C 09/05/2024 Amazing film as the filmmakers show new evidence that ultimately lead to the arrest of Yaser. Very compelling and sad story to watch. Definitely be aware of possible triggers. See more J.N. J 05/29/2024 These victims deserved a much better retelling of their story. Disjointed, poorly edited, and in desperate need of quality interviews on the subject of honor killings instead of the intelligible ramblings of three times removed witnesses. The film was amateur at best. Horribly done. See more DMC M 07/31/2023 The fact that these girls were born into this family and this happened to them in America is tragic. Their mother should be haunted for the rest of her life. Besides that, the way this is filmed, the interviews etc. - all pretty bad. The editing was terrible, the whole story could have been told in a better way. Too many lose ends and too much talking as if this was about Romeo and Juliet. See more 02/28/2015 The directors Neena Nejad and Xoel Pamos, have carefully and artfully brought this story to the public eye. A terrifying story about Amina and Sarah Said who were killed by their father Yaser. Yaser, was clearly an abuser under any guise, but it is also clear that his cultural upbringing was perhaps the single most important factor that drove him to commit the crime of which he is accused. After the murders he run away and he is still at large. So ironic to "honor-kill" someone and run away like a coward. Making use of video tapes, emails, text messages, diary entries, and hand-written notes gives so much power to this story. It's truly heartbreaking to see how Amina's husband-to-be, Joseph is still broken after so many years and he does an outstanding job driving viewers through the story. I have no doubts of how strong their love was because you can tell that he is still in love with her like no time has passed. One of the most sad parts of the film is the realization that both sisters were betrayed by their mother who, without pulling the trigger, had a big role on the death of her daughters. The film is also extremely educative to those who don't have a lot of knowledge of honor violence. I was shocked after learning about this and Amy Logan does an incredible job explaining people what this is about. I can't stop thinking that she said that eight million girls are exposed to honor violence every day. Just chilling. The Price of Honor shows the sad reality that those who are supposed to protect us, like our family or law enforcement agencies, are the ones who on this particular case failed time after time to save Amina and Sarah. A must watch film that I hope will reach many people around the globe. See more Read all reviews
