Timothy P @timop1919 Aug 29 Maybe the worst movie ever made. Awful writing, awful directing, awful acting. It thinks it's important satire but it doesn't work at all a that either. So embarrassing for all involved, which may be why it's worth a watch, knowing it's just really bad. Although the premise might seem far-fetched, If you connect the cause and effect of legal assisted suicide, free speech, fascination with the macabre, and the quest for fame...you just might end up in a reality where the show in this movie gets made. Give society another 50 years and something like it might really be broadcast. This movie isn't perfect. The main character's transition from moral to immoral is too sudden and poorly justified. His sister's motivations are hard to fathom, as are his producer's. But, the movie definitely held my interest from beginning to end. SYNOPSIS: 'An unsettling look at reality T.V. where a disturbing hit game show has its contestants ending their lives for the public's enjoyment.' With a strong cast, an interesting and original premise, and Giancarlo Esposito taking on director and acting duties, this film should've been something special, if at worst an interesting watch. Unfortunately, it just falls down on the weight of expectation it puts on itself and on the subject matter. Whether it's Esposito's naivety and inexperience as a director which causes this to fail is questionable. Maybe it's just a bad film. The worst thing for me is that it looks so shoddy, like a TV movie. It has TV movie plastered all over it when it shouldn't have. It needed greater investment. 'This Is Your Death' is an interesting concept, but tonally it's totally mishandled and fails to deliver.
