This film focuses on Corydon M. Wassell, a real-life country doctor from Arkansas. When America enters WWII, Dr. Wassell is shipped to Japan. After the battle of Macassar, Wassell is ordered to leave the area immediately. However, the doctor disobeys his commands, staying behind to care for ten seriously-wounded men.

SINCERE, WELL MEANING WW2 FILM WITH A VERY GOOD PERFORMANCE BY GARY COOPER. NICE STORY, VERY MUCH PROPOGANDA BUT VERY INTERESTING. A BIT TOO DRAMATIC AT TIMES BUT A FINE FILM.
