M L Aug 6 "Stroll" away from this movie and never return. It didn't have a single scene about strolling, I was so upset. See more Angelo R 08/01/2023 A great look at the Trans experience. It is a good look at a time in New York that some would like to erase. As a gay man I have heard of the time of the Meat District in New York. A dark and sometimes dangerous period that was the only way for some people to express themselves. It's what some are trying to do LGBT+ community again especially going for the Trans/Non-binary community because they are seen as easy targets, that lies and disinformation can be used to oppress and criminalize their natural being. It was the Trans and drag people of color who lead the Stonewall riots and the beginning of the LGBT+ Rights movement and we should never diminish their struggles and fight for equality. Very educational and moving documentary. It's also a history of NY and a reminder of the collateral damage of the policies of Mayor Giuliani and Bloomberg. Women went to prison, often for years, just for trying to make a living.
