Audience Reviews for The Widows of Thursdays

Excellent photography, lighting and art direction as well as beautiful location. The film is not a thriller, it is a social drama, a painting of a time of an elitist and closed area. The story portrays diversel upper middle class women living in Altos de la Cascada, an exclusive area where they try to maintain a lifestyle, despite the financial and personal crisis. Despite some ups and downs of the film, is an interesting dissection of a society marked by materialism, nihilism, solitude and fear. The film does not attempt to provide an exhaustive explanation of the causes of economic problems suffered by Argentina in 2001, but even seem to invite the viewer to associate the serious problems of society with the crisis that ensued.
