An endearing symphony of misread cues, fumbling advances and accidental epiphanies.
Robert Schwartzman's lightly amusing trifle plays like an updated version of a dinner theater staple.
Although its plethora of painfully awkward comic moments will produce shudders of recognition for anyone who's been in a long-term relationship, its sweetly sentimental ending makes The Unicorn a perfectly acceptable date movie.
Though the premise in the script... might seem risqué to some... this is a sweet comedy built on awkwardness that gets more delighted giggles than shocked gasps.
Robert Schwartzman's direction is blah, his story labored and the supporting characters one-note.
The Unicorn puts threesomes into a new perspective...
A lot of the charm here is in how amusing it makes a particularly tricky situation. The dialogue sparkles and it's hard not to be amused by the turns the story takes.
Some good scenes, funny performances and sparkling banter make this worthy of rom-com silver, if not quite rom-com gold.
The Unicorn is a quirky off the wall comedy that will make you laugh, cringe, and maybe even cry while making you reflect on your relationship with your significant other.
Cleverly crafted, this comedy boldly challenges romantic and sexual stereotypes which makes it a unicorn in and of itself.
