Audience Reviews for The Vampire Journals

I am as surprised as any of you... I actually liked this film. The cinematography was way better than any Charles Band film usually has. The sets, costumes, and cast carried a great atmosphere. This was a classic vampire tale without getting stupid. There were even little flourishes of side characters. The actresses playing Sofia and Iris are gorgeous and give the film that sensual touch. Ash, the master vampire, has a real Christopher Heyerdahl from the 'Twilight' films thing going on. Zach has a weird bony face, but it fits his vampire with a conscience character and clearly he was cast for his voice. Of course this film is a cash in on "Interview With A Vampire", but I think Charles Band inadvertently produced a very decent vampire film. One I would recommend to any vampire fan for a classic vampire tale.

While the story could use more fine-tuning and it can be corny at times, there is something strangely alluring to me about Vampire Journals. It has a certain style, and dare I say, elegance to the way it's made and unfolds. I found it to be a very enjoyable vampire film with some minor flaws. I think it is a very underrated film.

I guess it's entertaining, it has awful acting, but the guy saves the girl. It's kinda like Interview With The Vampire with out the solid plot.
