The Whisper Man is indeed a safe space for tropes... You may also wonder which is weirder: the long periods when Scott vanishes from the story, or the periods he doesn’t, miscast as a brooding drinker. Still, the plot rolls on efficiently enough.

While not a bad movie, it is predictable at every turn, which makes for a more frustrating watch than a thriller. The cinematography and performances were good, and there is a somberness to it that is enjoyable. Given Netflix's standards of filmmaking, it was a good movie. However, due to the predictable nature of the storytelling and editing that cut character-building scenes too short, it was not the mystery thriller it sells itself to be; it is, however, good entertainment if that's what you are in the market for.

I really enjoyed this film. It had good entertainment value, while maintaining a serious tone. People judged it pretty harshly, but I found it quite thrilling. It touched on some hard themes. I’d recommend giving it a watch.

This may be the most predictable movie ever. Plus, for two top detectives they couldn't find their way out of a paper bag. I love De Niro but....yeeesh.

Very predictable movie. It started off promising but fell flat. Not sure why they tried to throw a bit of paranormal in there when it wasn't needed. The acting was great, but maybe not the best story telling here.
