Audience Reviews for These Ruins That You See

The story is rather well adapted from the book, except that the film is taking place in the late 70's. It's from the time when Mexico was putting a great effort in storytelling but due to the lack of financial resources it couldn't or didn't invest in cinematography. The movies story can be justified in the sense that the citizens of Cuevano (the name given to Guanajuato by Ibarguengoitia) seldom ever change and are forever grasping at the greatness of what once was an archaic way of life, hence moving the story to the 1970's does not affect the story too much. The acting is a bit stilted but ok and the characters seem to be a tad too salacious than that of the original story.
