Movie Info

Corbin Bernsen, Bruce Boxleitner, and Alison Eastwood star in the sci-fi horror film They Are Among Us. The film concerns a sleepy town that is populated mostly by aliens who have been pretending to be humans for a lengthy period of time in order to eventually strip the planet of resources they need to live.

It's certainly not awful enough to give you a migraine, but They Are Among Us just feels like an oft-told tale, retold (yet again) with very little ingenuity.

Audience Reviews for They Are Among Us

This is a pretty low budget Sci Fi Film, about aliens who come to earth replacing people in one town. Same old theme just different actors. In this one 3 young people discover something strange about there parents, only to find out there aliens, and also we have a female alien hunter. The only real good effect are when the alien's lose there exoskeleton shell. I'm glad I picked this one up in a pawn shop for $3.00 and more and I would have felt screwed. 2 Stars

In a word, disappointing. I personally think the title of this movie sounds greatly interesting, which compelled me to watch this movie. Little did I know, lurking ahead was two hours of horribly cheesy acting, terrible 'special' effects, and a plot that truly depressed me with how lame it was. I am ashamed actually, to have viewed this film, and it was two hours of my life that I will never get back. I have come to the conclusion that They Are Among Us is THE absolute worst movie I have ever had the viewing displeasure of. You have been warned!

One of the more up-scale (and better made) DTV sci-fi fare, They Are Among Us is a slight clusterfuck of aliens and humans, aliens as humans, intrigue, cover-ups, Clint Eastwood's daughter being a tough, alien hunter, so on and so forth. A group of high schoolers are trying to figure out all of the pieces, and not get killed trying to do it, while good ole George "Buck" Flower (sadly, in his last role) shows up as a mechanic, or is he?? Lots of weirdness in this film, but it all slightly comes together at the end, which includes Corbin Bernsen getting his comeuppance as usual, a giant prosthetic alien (my favorite part of this film which blatantly steals from Aliens), and open-ended material, which begs for a sequel that will probably never happen. Not a bad time killer.
