Movie Info

Famed ventriloquist Paul Winchell and his sidekicks Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smif are your hosts for this collection of great comedy moments from The Three Stooges' classic two-reelers of the 1930s and '40s starring Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Howard. Included are highlights from How High Is Up?, Micro Phonies, What's the Matador?, Goofs and Saddles, Violent Is the Word for Curly, A-Plumbing We Will Go, Half-Wits Holiday, and many others. Stop! Look! And Laugh! also includes two comic sketches starring the briefly-popular animal act The Marquis Chimps. Stop! Look! And Laugh! was designed to take advantage of The Three Stooges' new popularity after their classic short subjects were sold to television -- and was created without their active participation. This soon led to a dispute between the veteran comics and their agent, who helped produce the feature without consulting them. Jules White, director of many of the classic Stooges shorts, compiled the feature and directed the new material.

The film is fit for the kiddies, who are more apt than adults to take to the Stooges' silly slapstick routines.
