It's been said a million times before, this film was a gamechanger. But looking back, how is it as a film technologically. And when I saw it as a child, I became outright obsessed owning all the toys, games, and merch. But how it is now? Honestly, I still like it. Yeah Pixar has massively improved as a studio in terms of technology and storytelling, but this is still a solid film. Maybe not the tearjerker or laugh factory as their later films, but it's still got all the fun and creativity they're known for and I don't mind putting it on once in a while. Is it dated? A little, but its' still a solid story and the characters will always hold up.

A lot darker than I remember. Not necessarily in ways that were inappropriate for the audience but the screenplay does take a lot of narrative risks that mostly pay off (i.e. Buzz Lightyear's delusion regarding his identity that gets shattered, Woody's fear of being replaced that manifests in violence, everything with Sid). Pixar sort of reset to a more earnest approach to story after this one, which often results in great stuff but I'll always have a soft spot for this one.

Simply one of the best animated movies ever made. Toy Story will live on in the hearts of many forever, including myself.

Both cleverly written and a technical achievement, Toy Story is a fun adventure that the whole family can enjoy - and one that gets better with age.
